Bayern Munich 0 - 1 Barcelona: Messi-ah is back!

By: Isaiah | August 15th, 2007

I didn’t watch the match, but it seems from Sport’s Partido Al Minuto that Leo Messi scored an absolute golazo in the 84th minute of today’s Franz Beckenbaur Cup/Mehmet Scholl Testimonial match. Gabi Milito made his debut for Barcelona in the 60th minute, subbing on for Thuram. The “Fantastic Four” didn’t play together

The quick stats:

Bayern Munich: Kahn (Rensing, 46′); Lell, Van Buyten, Lucio (Demichelis, 46′), Lahm (Jansen, 46′); Altintop, Ottl (Ismael, 88′), Van Bommel (Ze Roberto, 46′), Schweinsteiger (Wagner, 69′); Scholl (Ribéry, 53′), Toni (Klose, 46′).

FC Barcelona: Valdés; Zambrotta (Márquez, 46′), Oleguer (Belletti, 89′), Thuram (Milito, 60′), Abidal; Touré, Xavi, Iniesta (Deco, 46′); Eto’o (Messi, 46′), Henry, Ronaldinho (Giovani, 46′).

Goal: Leo Messi (84′)

Yellow card: Oleguer 83′

Ref: Félix Brych (Germany)

I’ll write up more later when I find a little bit of time, but for now, we need only think of La Liga!

That was some goal! Of course, it’s doubtful Messe will be given that much space in a competetive game. I have a feeling defenders will be much harder on him this season — lots of brutal tackles. I hope the little guy is touch enough.

Leo may be little but he is like a little terrior. He will be OK…hopefully. Just hope he can get thru this season un-injured.
