Champions League Squad

By: Isaiah | September 18th, 2007

Tomorrow’s Champions League squad is as follows:

Valdés, Jorquera, Abidal, Sylvinho, Oleguer, Zambrotta, Milito, Thuram, Márquez, Touré Yaya, Xavi, Iniesta, Deco, Ronaldinho, Bojan, Giovani, Messi and Henry.

Potential European debuts for Toure, Abidal, Milito, Gio, and Bojan while Messi and Marquez return to the squad after missing out on the Osasuna draw through injury and suspension, respectively. There’s isn’t much to say as the game is in the Camp Nou and we should win, but it certainly won’t be easy. We need a good win to kick start our domestic season, as the team has been floundering away, much as they did throughout last year (which certainly cost us the title). So far only 1 game at home proved a 3-1 victory, though it was certainly not a comprehensive defeat.

Lyon is no pushover and will definitely be out for a win. They’ve worked their magic in the Bernabeu, so we can’t be overconfident. Too bad the game won’t be on TV…

More tomorrow morning about the reconstruction of the Camp Nou.

Actually, if you can live with a tape delay the Barca/Lyon game will be airing on ESPN Classic at 5pm EST today.

That is true, Jordi, but I do not have ESPN Classic, unfortunately. Otherwise I would more than watch it.

Maybe I’ll go to a bar after work. Happy hour, after all.

Pretty decent commentary on Barcelona.cat. It allows me to follow the game live from my desk at work.
