Hey, whoa, match comments post! Barca vs The Goats
By: Kevin | August 8th, 2009And no bleating noises, you savages!
This wraps up our pre-season action, as the lads return home to prepare in earnest for the real season debut, the Gamper Trophy match. As this will be the last real game conditions tune-up, expect to see some real lineups, and some serious looks at the kiddies.
I know you’re all looking to natter away about it, and this is the place. Yay!

henry had a shit game.
he is probably not 100% mentally or physically. and anyway, pep probably told him: “dude, you’re 31. take it easy today. save it for the regular season. on the other hand, the people wanna see some Titi, so i want you to be on the field.” anyone can see that he looked more like the Titi of two seasons ago than that of last season.
the F in HFC means you can say he had a shit game when he in fact does. and he did. he really, really sucked. (well, now i am just trying to provoke mfs.)
i think we can do great this year even with henry as a regular starter. but i dont like when he slows up play by taking too long on the ball or dribbling off by himself. nobody else on the team does that. even when messi goes on a foray he usually doesnt isolate himself like that. and it’s not a question of not having support from the other players. i just dont think his head was in the game. but again it is preseason, we have a lot to see this year.
JDS is the biz. not as pacy as his bro, but all around, much more promise. and no R10 to fuck up his head.

fcbfan: because it is.

maybe so both teams could benefit from ticket sales fcbfan. or maybe just to make it more exciting.
i read that jds has been given a chance to play for spain.

I think Giovani’s agent fucked up his head, not R10. R10 didn’t fuck up Messi’s head, don’t see why he would do otherwise for Gio.

Txiki on our youth players:
“We have the fortune that our youth policy is working so well. Muniesa, Fontás, Jonathan… They are all having a great pre-season. They are once again showing how extraordinary the youth structure is. Besides, it is easier for homegrown players to adapt to the way of playing than it is for those who come from elsewhere. We should take advantage of that. I think they are more than likely to play a role.”
Looks like a couple of these guys have a good shot of being promoted.

I was jnice… and Fontàs really impressed me vs Chivas. More than Muniesa.

Nice. Yeah Fontas impressed me more than Muniesa, too. I think Fontas might get promoted this season and Muniesa in a year.

imaginen fontas in two years playing with a veteran pique… FCB trademark defense!! the kid made some great moves yesterday, with the ball and without it.

Mher, the fantasy thing hasn’t started yet — Yahoo hasn’t set it up yet. I will write a full post when it is set up and tell you how to join.

Damn right BA.
€15million is what Bordeaux paid for Gourcuff. I can’t understand why we didn’t just say: you paid 15 so here’s 20, buy yourself something nice.
He could score shit loads of goals in our system, even coming off the bench in big matches, he would provide something differentPosted from

@Ciaran
Bordeaux had right of first refusal over Gourcuff’s contract, which had a 15M euro buyout clause – that was part of the buyout option of the loan deal that Milan set up. Basically, if Bordeaux met the asking price and Gourcuff agreed personal terms (ie, what actually happened), no one else had a shot of getting him

@gv
no chance of JdS playing for Spain. He’ll surely play for Mexico!
have two siblings ever played for different national sides?
besides. Gio plays for Mexico, and Jonathan’s Dad, Mom, and brother live in Mexico. and Jonathan is Mexican by birth.

Were any of you at the match? I was and it was spectacular, the atmosphere was amazing. The formation looked really lopsided. No one really playing as a true striker. Maxwell was awful. Why did you buy him????
There were like 50000 chivas fans their. OK, im done.Posted from

Who did I Hector this time? (New post up!)

Thomas, oddly most of the rest of us thought that Maxwell was really good. We bought him cause he’s good.

Of course it was a legal thing. Too bad you couldn’t secure him on loan before we did. Maybe it’s because you couldn’t guarantee him playing time?
Then again, he’ll be up for bids in about a year.
