New Blogger(s) Needed for Barcelona Offside
By: Daryl | October 4th, 2009Hi everyone,
We are looking for new writers here on Barcelona Offside. Iggy did all he could to fill in after Kevin and Isaiah’s departure, but has found that running Barcelona Offside requires more time then he currently has available. I want to thank him for his efforts under difficult circumstances.
Here’s the new plan: I’m going to recruit a team of bloggers to return Barcelona Offside to its former glory.
Barcelona Offside currently has an excellent search engine ranking (seriously, go and Google “barcelona blog”) so with a team of talented, committed writers it can very quickly become a very big site again. If you want to be a part of that then I want to hear from you.
I should point out that running an Offside blog is not as easy as it looks. It pays precisely nothing and requires a huge commitment of time and effort.
Please read our bloggers’ guidelines here. Please also be aware that we’re going to have very high standards about who we give the keys to such an important blog to.
To be specific, we’re looking for Barcelona Offside bloggers who…
1. Possess excellent English language writing skills. I mean excellent.
2. Understand how blogs work – hyperlinks, images, polls etc.
3. Can offer insight, analysis and humour. It’s not enough to just reprint the news or to write “Messi is very good” or “Zlatan is very tall”. To be successful you need to offer an opinion or point of view that can’t be found elsewhere on the internet. Or failing that you need to make people laugh.
If you think you’re up to the job, send an email to daryl[at]theoffside[dot]com. Please tell me a little about yourself, how often you could (realistically!) write per week, and please include either links to previous Barça writing samples or a sample post of what you would write on Barcelona Offside.
