yeah i dont know much about barca b either. still, its good to know we have an effective youth system. now we have to try and keep arsenal out of it. wenger said that he tried for messi a few years back, but couldn't due to him being non-euro. i wouldve lost my mind to see them with messi and fabregas.

To be honest, I'm not all that familiar with the Barca B kids, unfortunately. What I've been seeing on the net recently is that Gai Assulin, 16, and Jeffren Suarez, 18, are solid forwards, Marc Valiente, 20, is a solid defender, and Victor Vasquez, 20, has shone flashes of brilliance, but no consistency. Crosas is definitely the most mature and capable of the group, but as has been noted here before, defenders take a lot longer to "arrive" than forwards do, so Valiente and Botia, 18, may make the jump at some point.

Take what I said with a grain of salt, of course, cause I don't know much about them, haven't seen a game of theirs ever (except the Copa Catalunya final last year, which was basically a B game), and don't know how to appraise 16 year old defenders...

Marc Crosas is supposedly that sort of player, but I think he's more of a Xavi type than a Toure type. Not a true holding midfielder.

yes but i think that edmilson is going anyway, and he seems like he would only be happy as a regular player. i think that we need someone who wouldnt mind being on the bench/reserves. maybe a youth player will come through soon.

i was a bit disappointed to see ronnie on the bench. i guess having him fully fit for the espanyol game should be good. i almost lost my mind when yaya's shot was saved. he deserves more credit than he gets (even if he gets alot), because the team crumbles without him. i think we should get a backup for him (someone other than guddie, of course). just someone cheap, either really old, young or unknown.

You know, I think most OL fans before the match were expecting us to lose. It's not that we're disappointed in tying with Barcelona, since even if we had all our injured players back, there's still a difference in level, but that during the match, Lyon just got lazy at some moments. Considering the stakes for Lyon, we would have preferred that the team didn't take their foot off the gas. If Barcelona had something to play for, the result could have been humiliating for us once again. Thankfully, Rangers won't force Lyon into the same situations that Barcelona did.

Also, it was nice seeing Ronaldinho at the Gerland again. He hasn't been there since his PSG days.
