Rammallets? Really? Above Zubizarreta and Zamora himself? I mean, I know Zamora wasn't all that great with us (and he played mainly for Espanyol and Real Madrid)...but he's freakin' Ricardo Zamora...And if you think about it, a certain Diego Maradona played for Barcelona as well...

I think that Barca is the colors, the side and Camp Nou. I think that it's bigger than anyone or anything, than the style of football any coach espouses, bigger than even Guti in the Blaugrana (but just barely :D ).

Wenger would be a brillant grab, but he isn't leaving Arsenal any time soon. He has a great deal, and they get whatever player he wants, within reason. Why leave there?

I think that coaches will play to the talent that they have. I probably would have played the same style of football as Chelsea with the group that they had. They went about as far as they could. The first rule of the game for most coaches, I think, is don't concede goals. Then you see what happens from there. It's a safe bet that with Milito in the side, that Llorente goal doesn't happen on Sunday. He's that lockdown kind of defender that every coach loves, and he doesn't roam too far upfield. His rule is when in doubt, kick it out.

If you look at Chelsea's front line during the Mourinho days, aside from Drogba, they didn't really have the freewheeling kind of potential that we have, even when Robben was healthy.

I don't really know who the best coach is for us right now. I just know it isn't Rijkaard. It was when the lads were motivated and galvanized. Then all he had to do was submit the lineups and turn them loose. Things are more complex now. I feel like even Serie A teams are playing more open, flowing football than we are. Watching that Juventus/Inter Coppa Italia match yesterday reminded me of what it's like when a team says let's move the ball and score some goals. To heck with possession and passes, let's put the thing in the net.

I want those days back for us.

Porto with Mourinho on the sidelines managed to win the European Cup without as much talent as we have, and played the right brand of football. He had the players with talent express themselves and the team working hard.
What is wrong with defenders defending and attackers attacking?... Well Cules expect slightly more. He wanted attacking fullbacks at Chelsea (Cole and Alves) but only got half. I would love if we could get Wenger so that we could play Barca football again

Kevin, I think Barca is still Barca with Drogba up front -- but NOT with Mourinho as manager. I'm an admirer of Mourinho's, and I think he did fantastic at Chelsea and Porto. But his style is inimical to Barca's. He is a proponent of percentage football: do enough to win, and don't try to entertain. That's okay for many teams, not Barca. I may regret saying this (heck, I already have, many times, in the past) but I'd rather lose with flair than win without.

Yaya had a good game too, accounting for one Cote d'Ivoire goal off a pass, and another off a rebound-causing shot. Hey, why did he stop unleashing those bombs from long-range that he used to do?
