Barca v Deportivo match comments thread

Yes, we’ve won the treble. But business must go on. Starting XI: Pinto, Caceres, Pique, The Yaya, Sylvinho, Keita, Gudjohnsen, Xavi, Hleb, Eto’o, Krkic.

Have at it!

Anyone watching the Osasuna v EE game that didn’t know any better would assume that EE were the ones in a relegation battle… except that EE are just bending over asking to be f**ked.

Okay, I just watched Ibrahimovic take a long pass, control it perfectly, fight off two defenders and back heel (with power) a goal inside the near post.

Yes, I am philosophically opposed to spending 60 million for anyone. And he’s lazy in the midfield. Balls rolled right past him that Eto’o would have made an effort for and probably intercepted.

    But damn, what a striker.

Pretty awesome goal by Zlatan, I think the back-heel is his favorite part of the body to score with :)

Bye bye Betis, Numancia, and Recre Huelva. And helloooo Xerez, Tenerife, and Zaragoza!

Can’t believe it wasn’t Sporting Gijon that went down. Now I owe john a beer next time I’m in Chicago. Note to self: never go back to Chicago.

Well, probably hello to Tenerife and Zaragoza. With 39 games played in La Segunda, it appears that we’ll see those 3 teams promoted. Hercules could still spoil their party, but it doesn’t look too likely.

Alaves and Alicante are both going to drop out of La Segunda and fall to where they could conceivably play Barca Atletic…who, sadly, didn’t make the playoffs to be promoted to La Segunda. Maybe next year.

I bought the dvd of the final today for 9 euros! I’m going to watch it again tonight… with special interest in Don Andres that played injured.

Did you know the staff told him not to shoot or make long passes so he could play the whole game?

The reason its so hard to repeat is because everyone guns for you.

Expect ALOT less 6-0s, and 4-0s next season, as every team will come at us ready to prevent that.

But, theres not reason to think that we dont have a chance at 6 titles. There’s a difference between “can” and “will”

We should always believe that we CAN win everything, and we should NEVER say that we WILL win anything.

    BTW… I LOVE our new away kit…

Pecking away on the review as we speak, gang. Sorry for the delay, but I wanted to watch a feed without all that digital breakup at key moments.

And. Nosing around the Sport site, you also find that Txiki wanted to sign Forlan back in ‘06, while Rijkaard wanted Gudjohnsen. Yes there was a price difference, but I’m not so sure I would have made that “swap.”

Wait, the 2 years when samu was injured for long periods and we had no replacement, we could have had forlan, but instead had gudjonsen (who i love by the way). /meh, spilt milk i guess, and i guess its good they signed the player frank wanted.

A video of every goal from Zlatan this season.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jNrBjI5xSk

Can I say that Eto’o would have scored all of those goals? Unfortunately not.
Is Zlatan a more selfish player than Eto’o? Unfortunately not.
Would Zlatan score (real)Ronaldo amounts of goals in La Liga? Probably.
Would anyone in their right mind expect Barca to spend €70million on Zlatan? Rightly Not.

I would gladly spend €40million for him, or €20million plus Eto’o.
If we could get a first choice striker that is the perfect no.9, then we could pick up someone like Keirrison (not a towering striker but one that could score lots from the bench against tiring defenses) to have as backup as I see Bojan becoming an unbelievably talented and effective wide forward over the next couple of seasons.
