On WIKIPEDIA ,I read “On 29 November, Eto’o scored his 111th career Barcelona goal in all competitions in a 3-0 road win over FC Sevilla, moving him into the club’s top ten all-time goalscorers.”
Does anyone know how many he has in total(today’s game included)?
Thanks, I am both a Barca and Madrid Fan!Posted from

good win, without exerting too much effort, seems like we were n cruise control, and i dont blame them, with all the international fixtures in midweek. only issue is the slack defending on free kicks. oh yea, i had a thought, imagine a 10 years younger sylvinho on the left with alves on the right!

Well, according to wikipedia he has 115 Barca goals and 24 in all competitions this year (21 goals in 21 games for La Liga which is SICK).
You guys see why I like me some SPF45 at center-mid partnering up Xavi?

Considering his scoring rate, he could possibly make top 5 by the end of the season.
Definitely top 3 if he continues after this season
Samuel Eto’o is too good. He gets us what really counts.

That was Alves’ second goal from the run of play ballbeav, he scored one against Valencia.

- the goal we conceded was basically iniesta Fault, you clear a confusing ball to the sideline and not to the middle (yes he had that choice) but you forgive him after the brilliant game he played. it was also – in the second place- the responsibility of our player who is responsible to guard the edge of our area – Xavi? it was an impossible shot for Valdes. But its good to do this kind of mistakes now so the technical staff can lecture about it and make sure we don’t do it when it may cost dearly.
- in the first Goal, a credit must be given to Iniesta, its not easy to be faster WITh the ball than the player chasing you ball free, he passed the ball just in the right timing and he is smart to plan it, an earlier pass to henry means slowing down the counter because henry is not as fast with the ball between his feet, while delaying it for a minute will close the angle for the cross. Iniesta actually dictated the cross henry made, it became the obvious option.
- Henry played one of his best games, but he also made the most ugly expression I have seen from barcelona player this season, and thats when Eto’o took that shot.
- It was so great the way Barcelona fans cheered for Gijon coach for this game who is the player that scored the 3000th goal for barcelona.

Give him a break Ramzi, watch the game again and see how many times he was ignored when he was near the goal and wide open or in an otherwise advantageous position (between 3 and 5 times). The decision eto’o took to shoot wasn’t bad , but it all added up for Henry at that point. Then on top of that, when he finally did get a chance (header from alves cross), he screwed it up. I imagine he must feel both unlucky and unsatisfied with himself from that game. He did contribute, but I think he wanted to score.

ramzi f I’m not mistaken I think it was Xavi who half-cleared that ball that resulted n Gijons goal.
I love Eto’o but I prefer me some Henry. On the first goal Henry madena selfless pass to Eto’o, why, because it was the smater thing. Henry could of shot and it would have been 50/50. But he went for the 99%. Eto’o got basicaly the same pass and shot instead. It was a good shot dnt get me wrong. But it was still not the better decision. It was selfish! I know strikers have to be selfish sometimes but still. If he would have made the shot I still would have wanted that pass t go to henry. He deserved it.
Busquets was great at recovery but was a little off with the passing. Xavi and Messi were not them selves today, but weren’t bad either.
And Dani boy so deserved that goal.
It was interesting how Gijon still being down by 3 never unparked the bus.

I will definitely watch the game again Tomatutomate, I always do, if it was xavi who made the clearance then the responsibility for the goal goes on him in the first place then.
And eto’o the right footed striker was not in the same position in that strike as henry was in the cross, it was a ball to shoot. But you never know what I will see when I watch the game again:)
As an old henry admirer this kind of expressions was the only thing I didn’t like when he does henry since his days with Arsenal, when he was the focal point for the team who gets all the balls and the Lights. No one does that kind of expressions for him when he pass thru a bad game wasting a scoring chance after another, it was bad.

Huntelaar, I became a Barca fan because of the Dutch, but by no means would I switch by dutch players going to RM. I wonder if you root for Liverpool, Man U, and Arsenal?

I only managed to catch the last 40 minutes of the game so I ‘d rather not make a any sweeping remarks. From what little I did see:
-Iniesta and Xavi did a good job at center-mid although I did see Professor X uncharacteristically lose possession a couple of times and have two or three bad passes. If Iniesta could only score goals he’d be regarded as high as any center-mid in the world. I’d argue he’s a better center-mid than even Cesc at this point.
-I noticed Eto, Messi, and Henry moving around up front. It seems everybody takes turns lining up at the nine. That’s part of what I LOVE about our system, the front line is all FORWARDS. I know that technically Messi and Henry play as “wingers” but all three guys play multiple positions and can switch around and be goal scoring threats from anywhere. That must drive defenses bananas! One moment you are defending the pace and strength of Eto and then before you know it you have Messi with all his trickery, dribbling, and acceleration attacking you.
-Alves had another great game. His first start partnering Messi in a little while and its turns out to be his best game in that same span. Coincidence? He really deserved that goal and I must say his celebrations are my favorite from anybody on the team, probably the guy happiest to score. Then again, he’s Brazilian so he’d BETTER have good celebrations.
-Busquets is awesome as a “defensive mid” when playing clearly inferior teams. He’s work rate is amazingly good for a 20 year old midfielder. However, if he’s gonna play that position he’s gonna have to learn to tone down the cheekiness and excessive dribbling sometimes. When he has Yaya or Keita covering his backside its okay, but when he doesn’t, he has to learn from Yaya or the great defensive mids of today like Senna or Mascherano and keep it simple, make accurate no non-sense passes, screw flash.
- Regarding Ramzi’s observation about Henry, from the replays and highlights I honestly didn’t notice it. From what I did see, he has no right to complain (if he did) because Messi and Iniesta were the ones open and onside for MUCH easier tap-ins than any that Henry could have had. Then again, I didn’t watch that one live so I may be wrong but that’s what I did see.

BTW, if you were implying otherwise, Henry is also right-footed. The fact that he crafted the curving pass to eto’o for the first goal with his left is a credit to him.
My point was that it wasn’t just about that one opportunity, it was the accumulation of a handful of chances that came before that.
Xavi had an uncharacteristically bad game, but he had the flu so we can cut the guy some slack. But why wasn’t he rested instead?

UAI, I’m glad you caught that too. There were a number of times that Henry made a run at the beginning of the game and didn’t get the return ball. After half time he looked a bit disappointed and frustrated. That said, I can’t really defend that face he made. Thankfully he still made passes and a hard run back to stop a counter-attack (at least I think it was him).

what a good thing to see so many americans liking FCB!!!
it was a very easy game, let’s see what happens in the champions league… I can hardly wait for liverpool-madrid haha.
messi is god, iniesta jesuschrist and xavi the holy spirit ;o)
no one ever carries the ball with both feet the same and never looking at it. INIESTA has too much natural talent. and messi doesn’t even need his right foot, ridiculous.
henry sucks, badly.Posted from
