Did you know?

Iniesta scored this one goal. Don’t know if you realized.

I do these things because I can. (h/t: Hector)

Also, don’t forget the Villarreal preview, where, in the comments, I threaten you with wolves.

Nice Iniesta vid Alexinho. Some of those sequences are unnecessary, they were take away from some of the cooler stuff he does in other parts

Not to bring everyone down, but it seems Henry is doubtful for the CL final, and will definitely miss the Copa and the next three league games.

Lineup for the final if that’s the (fucking) case…

    ———-Valdes———
    Puyol–Caceres–Pique–Sylvinho
    —Xavi—Yaya—Keita—
    —Messi–Eto’o–Iniesta

Iniesta will need to do some incredible, incredible running up and down the field, because Keita will get annihilated by Carrick/Anderson guaranteed, and Syl will undoubtedly have a very difficult game against Ronaldo. And unfortunately, for me, it takes him out of the left-forward role in effect. I think Caceres has what it takes to have a good game, but he needs to do so, and Yaya will need to park it just in case and do what he typically does (most confident about this part. That leaves three essential attackers. Xavi needs to have one of his genius games, and Messi needs to have his best performance of the season. And Eto’o will need to be totally ON.

I think I’m going to need to find a rosary for this one.

Isaiah, you mean its time to change what the term “Iniesta” means in your Barcelona dictionary?

How did YOU celebrate the goal?

I cried in front of the TV, was kneeling down and kicking my hands and legs in the air, all at the same time.. did I mention I was screaming like the house on fire?

@khairallah…great compilation there. it’s interesting to see the range of reactions. from the obviously upset scottish (irish?) feed, to the arabic feed (did i hear an ‘allah’ in there?), to the jubilant spanish feed.

    awesome.

khairallah, in the first replay you can barely hear Andy Gray in the background mutter “oh my”. Priceless IMO

As a Scot can I defend our nation and say that andy Gray is no longer considered a Scot by most of us up here and is an apologist for the Premiership?

Certainly among my friends Iniesta’s goal rates as one of the highlights of our year :)

As far as the celebrations were concerned, I was was stopped by my wife on my sixth lap of the living room hands in the air, then knelt about 2ft in front of my 40″ widescreen TV screaming “Yes, oh Yes!”

They’re in good company, though. Arsenal is shattered as well.

@JeffP.. yeah the arabic one was amazing.. and yes he was yelling allah (like omg), actually i watched the whole game in arabic, and the commentator was always telling chelsea that theyre gonna regret missing all those chances and telling barcelona that the ball wants them to go through to the final.. and u can hear him yelling “ghaddara” which means “deceitful” to describe the goal, he was out of his mind :P
@Aeneas, lol yeah, u can tell how depressed both commentators were, neither showing any excitement and that great “oh my” in the backround, more like “shit, how could this happen”

As Isaiah’s friend James is my witness, Isaiah was stunned into dead silence by Iniesta’s goal. For about a full second. Maybe two. Then there was a lot of screaming. Then we went and played air hockey at a bar down the street.

Kolo scores an own goal while preventing Drogba from scoring. The competition between the Toure family and Drogba is fierce.

    Minute 93, more or less:

Dear husband and I, in calm and resolved manner, discuss whether or not it would be good for Barça to go out in the semis because a winning Barça one season is often a complacent Barça the next … and then dh leaps from sofa yelling ‘GOL’ and scares the bejeezus out of preschooler, who bursts into tears, which then wakes up the baby, so we are each shushing a screaming child in arms while dancing around the coffee table.

The best part was that we were working in the afternoon so the game was taped and we had isolated ourselves from all media before watching the entire tape from beginning to end … so we got to immediately rewind and replay … rewind and replay …

    Did somebody say LIGA?

I almost felt sorry for Iker yesterday (it’s the maternal in me ~ and besides, I said ‘almost’!) until I heard that Fiorentino wants Ribery for himself. If you can’t beat ‘em, buy ‘em.

Joe: In the land of perfect officiating, Henry gets a penalty in the first leg and we get a penalty for the Ballack hand goal in the 4th minute. Then Chelsea have to score three goals in <90 minutes, something only the most fanatic Chelsea supporter would say was possible.

Still, I think we’re all ready to just about drop it now… God knows I’m tired of the discussion.

    To the Villareal game!

have fun getting bested by a superior united side. I can’t wait to see the world implode when the world realizes the better team lost in the semi-final. 3-0 to united, and that’s being conservative. I hate united, but for once I am looking forward to a destruction of barca.
