Three months off for Silva! Some chronic ankle thing that he's going to get fixed. Yow.

Maradona is calling Messi "selfish," saying that he needs to work with his teammates better. Duh. Of course, Maradona calling someone selfish is like the pot talking to the kettle. :D

I saw that Caceres played the full 90 minutes at left back in Uruguay's match. Hmmmm. Looks like we have a backup in the event that Abidal goes down and Sylvinho can't get back from the hairdresser in time.

Over at Pep's blog, there's some website claiming that Guardiola wasn't convinced of Arshavin's ultimate quality, which is why a deal wasn't done. Of course, I'm sure that his crazy-ass valuation had something to do with it.

John, Kevin is right about GolTV, though they've got their schedule up now:

Saturday -
2pm: Barça-Racing
4pm: Valladolid-Atleti

Sunday -
11am: Villarreal-Depor
1pm: Real Madrid-Numancia

Note that next week, Villarreal will be away to Numancia, meaning they've got our schedule 2 weeks off or the bizarro RM schedule 1 week off.

Walcott is a bit like Diego Capel in the raw talent they both have but both need to be coached into becoming great players.
It's probably something that could be said about Messi too. Currently he is probably the best players in the world but he could be better. Firstly he comes too deep to get the ball and he doesn't always make the correct decision.
Another good showing by Nani for Portugal. He's becoming very very impressive. Not too sure if he's World Player of the Year material but would certainly be better value than other wingers I can think of.

From the half the game I saw, Iniesta looked pretty exciting on left attack for Spain today. Despite the overwhelming scoreline I thought Spain looked over-confident a bit and vulnerable to counter...like another team we know. Hope there were no injuries, Armenian team looked like bruisers.

John, GolTV has them, and they don't usually update their schedule until Thursday or so for the weekend.

2-1 Les Bleus. Abidal and Henry looked very good. So did Anelka, who came on for Benzema and really energized the side. The only down side is that the victory probably saved Dumbenech's inept ass.

Henry's goal was killer, taken through a sliver of space.

Cojonudo is right about Walcott. Pace and talent galore, but he has yet to make anything more than the "all potential" team.

Note that Dumbenech plays Henry as Wenger did at Arsenal, as part of a double-central striker attack, first with Govou, then Anelka. I was thinking, as Govou made that lovely lay-off for Henry's goal "Hmmm, if only the other No. 9 would do that."

Hey guys - I'm already looking forward to this weekend, and (I could be wrong, but) I can't seem to find any of the La Liga games being broadcast. Have the cable wars begun again?

The question on Walcott is does he possess flashes of brilliance or is he mearly a flash in the pan? I agree, he's not bound to Arsenal, and his "frustrations" have been apparent for some time. Personally I think the talent is there, but the consistency needed to play at a high level game in game out isn't there...yet.

He lacks maturity, get's easily rattled, and his constant "pleas" for more playing time can be seen by some in a selfish manner - putting personal goals/achievements over the team. Then again he's only 19 so his "attitude" is about what you would expect from most teenagers - namely entitlement (reference Dos Santos).

Personally I feel he's a bit of a stretch at this point. Although it's hard to "prove" yourself when you're not getting consistent playing time either. One thing I'm more "sure" about is that if Wenger remains flippant with him, Theo's days at the Emirates may already be numbered.

Bojan has come on as a sub for Spain v Armenia. Hopefully his debut will go better than Messi's for Argentina. Can't imagine Bojan getting sent off at any stage though
