Hleb is saving himself for the 5-a-side masters tournaments that retired ex-footballers play in their 40s

jordi? maybe its even bigger then that. perhaps hes waiting to score a bike, than a halfway line goal, then a diving header from the halfway line goal all in one game.

This game can have longer term implications for us. We had to have guys like Messi, Alves, Xavi, Puyol, and Busi play their hearts out and we have a game in 3 days. I have to bet that Messi (at least) starts this weekend from the bench.

Such an entertaining match, back and forth up to the final whistle. Tough to pick a man of the match. Dani played well, which is par for the course so far this season, but I have to give it to the kid for the brace; BOJAN is my MOTM!

I actually would’ve preferred to see Barca-Athletic, but Mallorca always has a few tricks up their sleeves.

Hector, we can still bring the likes of Yaya, Abidal & Henry who will have had 7 full days without a match as well as Iniesta and Eto’o who barely played

I do hope Busquets gets an 8+ (one of his best games so far) for his Gattusso impersonation. Guddy was solid. Messi was good but not up to what his form has been lately. Xavi was vital. Without him we lose this match.

Yeah true. What do we do about Alves, Xavi, and Messi though? Pique has been constantly improving and he had an awesome game but Caceres next to him doesn’t inspire much confidence. I hope Rafa’s good to go.

Then again, I’m a bit of a nervous wuss when it comes to stuff like that. I’ll just tell myself that Pep knows more than me and think of Yaya. That’ll do the trick.

Oh lawd what the hell is Hleb up to. Was that the first football game of his career or what?

And Guddy does a decent job of disappearing for entire halves. This was basically a 10 v 11 in favor of Espanyol until a red card for them evened things out.

I’d call this a good victory. Got a bit unlucky.. ok VERY unlucky with Pinto having a lapse in concentration but the second goal was nobody’s fault, really.

Then Puyol gets injured.. Didn’t look bad but hopefully he will be back for the CL.

And was anyone else worried about Messi? He took a knock and then it seemed to recover but he was not the same after that. Probably just very tired.

Which brings me to my next worry: Racing. Messi Xavi and Alves both played full games today and they will probably go in as subs against Racing. Which means that that game is going to be close and if I were a betting man, I’d say that game is where we are most likely to drop points this season.

Good game. Pinto shoulda had that one. I know you guys wont believe what im about to say, but, I DONT LIKE HLEB!!!!! Pedro has been FAR more usefull to us all season long.

Most are surprised, not I though, of Busquets performance today. Ive raved about him since the first game i saw him. And well Iniesta lit up the Left Wing when he came on, but i mean, anyone does well when comapred to Hleb’s work. This is why im still going to argue for a Busi-in-mid,-Iniesta-on-wing,-Henry-Super-Sub team in the CL.

Sylvinho has a good game, as he has been having lately, i think he just had a slow start to the season. Bojan, played his part well. I said he’d get 3, i missed by one ;-) . Most will say that they were easy, but credit him for being there on the first, and having the calm mind and feet to not muff up the second, which i thought was a hell of a goal.

I’ll admit, i was one of the biggest Pique detractors in the early part of the season, but he is getting pretty good, and churning out some solid performances. He still cant lob a pass worth shit though.

MOTM should be interesting. Do you go with Bojan for the 2 goals, Xavi for being his usual brilliant self, Busquets for being…well….awesome I guess or Pique for being a one man wrecking crew in the back, stepping up when the Cap’n went out, and scoring the game winner?

    Lots of choices there.

i would give it to pique or busi just so they can have a chance to be MOTM. especially pique as defenders dont usually get such good chances to be MOTM and also that was his first official barca goal
