Who, but Messi? Two versions:

Warning: the video below is crazy loud and includes clapping by the commentator

Slightly less insane version:

Even though they lost, in the end, this got Argentina off to a nice start.

That’s just crazy. I was screaming pretty loudly myself. Now we see why nobody in their right mind gives him ANY space.

In other great Blaugrana news, Eto’o is back training, and looks to be even BETTER than he was when he left. Fast, and scoring goals from crazy angles. He and Krkic were playing a game of Horse of sorts, and having a great time. He’s set for his return against Depor, or maybe Espanyol the week before.

Speaking of goals, Thierry Henry’s goal for France (against Ukraine), off his “weak” foot nonetheless, has this Blaugrana nut wondering if the problem isn’t the use of Henry. In the Euro match, he was fed the ball just outside the box. One move, a curling shot inside the post, and voila. Compare that to his Barca outings, where his back is to goal, and he’s the obvious recipient of a looooong pass. I’m starting to wonder.

good observation. i never thought of that. maybe short passes are the way to go. obviously we shouldnt change the way we play altogether (maybe away from home, but thats a different matter). i guess short balls are the way to go if we want henry to play to his potential.

When Deco is healthy, there are is almost a surfeit of short passes, but Henry wasn’t scoring freely then either. I’m just kind of confused by his inability to consistently find the back of the net.

As for Henry’s goal itself, he has basically never been given the opportunity to take that shot in La Liga. Few defenses allow themselves to be caught that far out by Barca, so Henry is naturally farther up the field and also more likely to get the ball with defenders between himself and the goal. I’m surprised that Ukrainian defender actually went in for that with a 1-0 lead because he might as well sit back and allow Henry to take on 3 guys rather than needing to avoid one tackle and shoot…
