“I like big cules and I cannot lie.” -Silvio Berlusconi

By: Isaiah | June 6th, 2007

Okay, so he didn’t really say that, but after being linked with every Barça player worth a damn and several others too, you have to imagine that Silvio has some sort of player envy going on. Ronaldinho, Deco, Motta, Edmilson, and now Eto’o. Just for kicks why don’t they bid for Valdés? They don’t seem to like Dida too much, after all. I wouldn’t even mention this Eto’o interest except that it’s very indicative of how things are going right now in the Catalan capital. Fresh off a glorious cup victory, you’d think that the rumors would die down a bit, but they have picked up full force as everyone realizes that Barça (and their fans) are currently enjoying the fact that they won the Copa Catalunya. Not sure that’ll make an anniversary edition of a single newspaper…unless Thiago Motta has some personal newspaper that likes to commemorate his crowning achievements. Anyway, because Barça haven’t turned in the greatest season by the club’s own high standards, there will be cherry pickers out there looking to score one of the blaugrana greats.

So the transfer rumors are out, but really, what’s new in that?

Also, feel free to replace “Silvio Berlusconi” with “Adriano Galliani anywhere in this post…
