Marca makes some crap up…again.

By: Isaiah | July 19th, 2007

Surprise! Spanish daily doormat of a newspaper Marca has announced that Iniesta is moving to Madrid. Besides surprising Iniesta himself, who said his heart lies with Barcelona, Marca has forgotten Real Madrid as well, it seems. I’m sure that paying €60m to buyout Iniesta’s contract is exactly how you’d want to get your next midfielder (naturally no one else is available for less), but there’s no way Madrid would get him even if they were. After all, Iniesta is quoted by FCB’s website as saying:

When I say I want to retire in Barça, I say it with all my heart. And my wishes are above everything else.

Sure, we’ve heard that sort of thing before from the likes of Figo cough devil cough, but for some reason when Andres says it, I buy it 100%. Maybe I’m just gullible. It’s always surprising to me that that word doesn’t appear in the dictionary, as often as it is used. Strange.

No. we should keep Iniesta. It sends out the right message of retaining our local youth products. Also, Fabregas should not be welcome after he chose to go out. We should boycott our youth talents who chose to go out(read Fabregas, Merida, Pique etc.)

Iniesta has loads to offer. He has immense dribbling skills with inch perfect exact weight passes. to top this up, he is unselfish and totally devoted to the barca cause.

i wouldnt say he chose to go out… fabregas would have never had the chance to prove himself at barcelona, and when he got that opportunity at a club renowned to bringing out the best in young players, why shouldn’t he take it.. people keep calling him a traitor like he pulled a figo and went to madrid… but most people didnt even hear of him until he showed up at arsenal.. and most people wouldnt have heard of him if he didnt show up at arsenal..
