More Heartache for the Cule faithful

By: Isaiah | May 14th, 2007

Isn’t it enough that the 1st team is facing a meltdown at the end of the season without the probably decent of the B team to the Tercera División? That’s the equivalent of the Nationwide Conference in a lot of ways. The Segunda B division is split into 4 groups of 20 teams, so that’s 80 teams that fight it out to qualify for the Segunda A, which is what we commonly think of as the Second Division in Spain. Wikipedia breaks it down, as usual, for the uneducated. The FC Barcelona website has the latest in the ridiculous demise of the B team, which has 2 games left to rectify the situation and come back strong next year.

For all his talent, Giovanni Dos Santos is having trouble carrying his team out of the relegation zone in a league basically as hard as MLS feeder leagues…Now for Bojan to come back and rescue the season with like a million goals.

The Segunda B is so lame that at the LFP website it’s relegated to “other competitions”…

And to think, the B team were in the Segunda when Puyol, Xavi, Luis Garcia et al were playing there. Eep.
