looks like Spurs are willing to sell Berbatov off for 30 million euros for us but 38 million for Utd….A little expensive but I think this deal is worth considering ..if you are thinking of the height diff …Ade is 6′3″ while berbatov is 6′2″ ….not much of a difference and I know for sure Berbatov is not only a better player in air but overall too….

Resistance over . . . . I’m off to Barcelona tomorrow for six days. Bloody typical that for the second time in two years I leave Scotland to go to Barcelona and they come to Scotland at the same time Hopefully I’ll find myself in some local bars and find out how they view the coming season.

You do PR because you never want to burn bridges, particularly with a club such as Barcelona. Coaching? Who knows. Some Pele or Cruyff-like role? Who knows. I admire the move. It’s always more difficult to be a grownup. And the good PR also polishes the R10 apple to a more lustrous glow.

Make no mistake. I’m not knocking him for the move. I’m just calling it what I think it is. The good thoughts are almost certainly sincere. But it’s still really good PR that can only enhance the R10 brand.

And I knew you couldn’t resist either, Jim.

I actually agree with Jim (for the first time)…although what Ronnie did in the last year was bad, he was a class apart overall, and we should not buzz him off for what he did recently.. He is trying to be as gentlemanly about it as one can given the circumstances and we should respect it even if we don’t agree fully (….he could have done much worse things…say even trying to go to Madrid..but he did not)

You can’t leave unless a team is prepared to pay for you. R10 had no control over that. The only people who can decide if he plays for Milan are Milan. I agree he probably knew that was what he wanted. As it was, though, he had to sweeten the deal by waiving his cut. Whether he knew or not isn’t the point, though. The club could have offered him the chance to say goodbye if they had wanted – even if he wasn’t fit. Leaving like this after what he has done for the club isn’t right.

I don’t see why he needs good PR for Barca when he plays for Milan, so how is choosing to be nice about a former club BS? The natural tendency would be to exact revenge. Wouldn’t have been hard given the way the rest had played without him. We could draw up a list of those who’ve gone down that road.

Is it too late to invite Milan to the Gamper trophy — it would give Ronnie a chance to say goodbye, and the fans to bid him farewell in a less-that-competitive environment.
