About Crosas: on my blog I post every week in the section “Crosas goes French” (look for it in the labels) how he has done in the weekend. If he plays that is… He started playing cause Juninho got injured, but is now sitting on the bench.

He might look like Guardiola (well, from certain angels), but his playing style can be more compared to Xavi.

Interesting to mention Marc Crosas. Does anyone follow French football and Lyon enough to know how he is doing. I suppose Inara is the one to ask that question too. He has that Guardiola thing about him, even if it is mostly physically.

i admit i haven’t followed sevilla closely since i lived there, but i am/was familiar with poulsen and he’s another solid role player in the sevilla mold. sevilla has become quite the model for talent development (see: ramos, sergio), especially considering their substantially smaller bankroll compared to the big 2.

so, marquez still wont be ready for villareal, and Yaya had to abandon training today with lumbar (lower back) pain. he is going to get treatment in order (hopefully) to have him ready for sunday. i’m sweatin’ bullets. cant poulsen come sooner?

Del Nido will play hardball but will let him go. Like you said Isaiah, they will either get some $$ for him now, or lose him for free a year down the road.

This is why in football, most people end up getting sold in the last year of their contract. The present team makes a bit of cash hopefully and the receiving team gets a half way decent price before everyone else tries to scoop him up when his contract is up.

I’m glad that everyone has a high opinion of him. It excites me that we’ll be bringing in someone solid, but cheap, as a sub for Yaya (though there is no substitute, really).

A note about the transfer: it wouldn’t take place until the end of the year, when the transfer window reopens. This means that it doesn’t matter about his current cup-tie status, merely whether or not he gets injured throughout the remainder of the year. As for his buyout clause, I assume that there will be a lot of pressure on Sevilla to drop the price below that particular price simply because otherwise they’re going to lose him for free a year down the road. I think this gives Barcelona quite a bit of leverage, especially if they have signed an agreement with the player, but I don’t exactly know all the legal maneuvers possible and I don’t understand the inner machinations of a transfer.

His buyout clause is 10million euro but Barcelona wants to lower that (the argument being that his contract ends in 2009).

Don’t know, he seems a Van Bommel type of player to me. Better suited for a 4-2-2. But Edmilson leaves and we need another back-up for Touré. Although Crosas will also be back, I guess.

Well, we wouldn’t really want him playing in the champs league this season anyway, Yaya is much better.

I think he’d be a great buy. He’s nothing brilliant, but he’d be a great back-up. I have no faith in Edmilson anyway. He is useless now and seems to play one game then be injured for another season. His “black sheep” comments didn’t help either. Poulsen is much better, in my opinion.

There is a reason we have trouble against Sevilla, and Poulsen is part of it. He isnt flashy, but fundamentally he is good, plays hard (which rubs off on others), and is good defensively. I wont complain if its true that hes coming, but i thought that players couldnt move around anymore — window closed no?

oh yeah…he’s cup tied. he cant play in the CL this year.
