Henry – 7 – Tried hard but his finishing was way off. He scored but Asenjo won that duel

Valdes – 7 – did what little he had to well. Showed good concentration.
Alves – 7 – 8 going forward, 6 defending. Marquez covered his wandering but his assist was suberb
Marquez – 8 – would have gotten a 9 if he played 90mins. Read the game excellently
Pique – 7 – One or two near slips in the first half but solid throughout the rest of the game
Puyol – 9 – Possibly a 10 but he cheated by watching the match tape before the kick-off
Toure – 8 – Read the game very well but his distribution was iffy in the first half
Xavi – 7 – I thought he was much quieter this match but made no errors. Played 10yards further back
Gudjohnsen – 8 – Solid midfield performance and his movement was excellent. Finished how Henry should’ve
Messi – 9 – His running on/off the ball was fantastic and was unplayable
Eto’o – 10 – A striker’s job is to finish and none do it like Samu

Caceres – 7 – No mistakes and I love his style of defending
Keita – 6 – Gives us a drive from midfield unlike any other. Very direct play and made no mistakes
Hleb – 7 – Great play for the Henry goal. I still have to say it though… SHOOT

I have to say my favourite part of the match was Caceres’ sliding tackle after like a minute of being on the pitch. He is just a no-nonsense defender like Puyol. He and Pique are so the business. Confidence and experience is all they need.

By the way, if 9CLs was watching… compare RVN to Eto’o now…

-Wow, Messi was amazing tonight, but only barca fans, and maybe some valladolid fans will understand that. I think that his team-mates should have done better to give him a goal.

-Henry was crap today. in the first half he over-elaborated on everything. He should have had 2 goals in the first half. A man earning his wage should have put them away. Goal or no goal i was very unimpressed.

-Xavi was a bit quiet today. but still. made 0 mistakes.

-WTF is up with puyol, can someone let him know that he’s too old to be running up and down the field like that! This man was born to be an athlete. i dont even know the name whatever player was playing on the right for them, he never retained possesion enough to be mentioned, as everytime he saw the ball he also had puyol breathing down his neck ready to take what is his. How does Kevin put this, He was everywhere, at the right time.

No offense to Guardiola’s picks, but i think i like Caceres better than Pique. pique is still to erratic, and had to be saved by our tireless captain… i think in a replay i saw Marquez giving Pique a lesson on defending. Caceres has some bite to him. Cant wait for him to get some more minutes.

i know i already mentioned it, but it cant be said enough. Messi OWNED. Henry sucked. Puyol is great!

Xavi, was a little bit out of form but ad ramzi always says when Xavi is out of form he is good, otherwise he is great!

Henry?? I really wanted him to score, it seemed the whole team wanted so, I’ll keep Kxevin to rate him!!
Tore’ best DM ever ever ever.
Piquet good depth, a bit shaky
Marquez, powerfull like ever.
Hleb, only with you ineista can have a deep sleep! top class touch.
Kieta, good strength to the midfield, but he needs time to recover and blend.
Caceres he did his job as required.
oh I almost forgot, Gudiiiiii, only you can score in this way calm and confident .

a steamrolling. i love Samuel. but the man of the match was definitely Messi; in a just world he gets a goal. he was the provider of so many great opportunities. the next person to claim the prominence of statistics to determine the worth of a player i’m directing to this game. Messi got no goals, but created chance after chance through spectacular vision and control. Xavi, Yaya, and especially Puyol were also out of this world (to borrow a Hudsonism).

Henry was mostly crap, and Gudjohnsen was ponderously slow for 98% of the match (excepting his goal), but to talk about disappointing performances after that would seem a bit cheap. GREAT game.

i bet Iniesta wishes he was out there.
