Morning:

1) I'm -and always been- with BA about Arshavin.
2) Busi's agent appeared yesterday on TV3 saying that the deal is almost done since Busi doesn't want to hear anything from any other club.

I definitely like the idea of Cesc coming back... maybe not in January for all the reasons listed above. But in thinking about how and where he would play, I could envision the following future lineup w/ him--
Back 4
-----Yaya-----
---Xavi Cesc--
Messi Eto'o Iniesta.

w/ Bojan, Busquets and the other rising B squad players off the bench. You could exchange Eto'o for whatever big money striker we get if he leaves.

i dont think a repacement for iniesta is actually that important come to think about it because - hoping everything goes well- iniesta should be back in action before the january transfer window.i think it would perhaps be more important to find someone who could play right or left full back because sylvinho has expired and we cant rely on el capitan. alves and abidal might get injured, what if alves now got injured? how would we play at the back? we have tonnes of centre backs but not enough runners.

BA, watch some of the videos i posted at the beginning of this thread, there are some interesting alternatives for players who can replace iniesta. plus they are young and could only dream of benchwarming at barca. i think arahvine is just too old to be a decent investment. unless of course we can get him for cheap.

what if we played fabregas in games where we where we needed to attack, and played yaya as DM and xavi and fabregas together as RAM and LAM respectively? just a thought

BA u just don't give up :)
R you the Russian boy agent or what?

Arshavine story remind me of modric story, who was labeled as the new Cruyff who will turn the heads around, he moved to a "little higher" level in football and flopped, the difference is that arshavin didn't flop, because he didn't move;)
This is a kind of players who need to be the unique star with a team serving him so he do his best, in barcelona this is not the way things happen, he need to serve the team, running and earning back the ball.
Secondly, Arshavin ego will not accept the role of bench warmer, so when you have Messi and iniesta what will you do? do we have a room for more rotations?

BA so you meant we buy him on January and sell him in the summer?because then you will have the names i mentioned above.

You cant switch him for Hleb who offer more tactical diversity for the team, he is better? well hleb played in a more difficult league and proved being vital not only for couple of games but for many seasons, and now that he left Arsenal you can see his value when you watch them, Arshavine? of what i watched, I can say he played three games that could be considered good taking the opponent in consideration, one in euro and two in the euro cup, and played as many at least average games. i haven't watched enough? may be...

if it worked to get him last summer for - AT MOST - 15 M, that would have been nice because it will make dear BA happy, for a while;)
but now its too late, the train passed him.

BA, as much as i agree... i think Arshavine would have been a good buy had we not picked up Hleb.

hm... i dont want to offend anyone, so let me keep this vague... how bout in january, or in the summer we offload an icelandic and belorussian and pick up a Russian ;-)

I think he can be a suitable replacement for Iniesta, whenever he needs a breather, or if, God forbid, he gets injured again.

I say we bid 20 million euoros for Fabregas in January. Arsenal will no doubt reject, but this tells Cesc that he's welcome back to the squad if he wants to come back, but we sure as hell are in no dire need for him, and sure as hell will not pay 50 mil for a talent we raised.
Honestly, i think that he should just play out his contract with Arsenal, then join us. How long does it run? (if anyone knows)

btw, if Madrid show up to the Camp Nou without Nistelrooy theres no way they leave with a single point. They will go come with sore cheeks and a postcard. I never want to wish a player harm. I actually am a fan of RvN, but if doesnt make it to El Clasico the EE dont have a chance.

oh, and on my previous post, my admiration for R10 in no way suggests that i think we should have kept him. i acknowledge that it was for the best, and that all parties benefitted from his sale.

Ramzi: i'd want Arshavin in January, not June. :D

:: Fabregas would be the most expensive benchwarmer ever. he's not going to dislodge Xavi or Iniesta from their spots on the 1st team, and he can't play in any other role (as good as he is at the one he knows).

:: is it just me or is Busquents kind of a d-bag? his on-field playacting coupled with his petulance at the contract talks make me wonder about his effect on a harmonious dressing room.

:: i'd like to see Keita out on the left. that's an interesting thought. tell the goofy Malian to start cracking shots from outside and putting them in if he wants to stay here.

:: i can't decide if we even need to pick up someone in January. we're flush with defenders. an attacking midfielder/forward? someone we can put on instead of Gudjohnsen? Iniesta has been marvelous on the left wing, but with him out injured we're back to Henry trying to play out wide, which makes me a bit queasy. a versatile attacking midfielder/winger who has some creativity to challenge defenses and an eye for goal seems like what we need.

but where could such a player be found? i'm stumped. i'll just close my eyes and put a pin on this map... oh look, St. Petersburg...

No andrew I didn't move, I just went there to have a meeting with obama and wish him the best then looked for Kxevin and Isaiah but they felt its boring to keep my company for the rest of the day so as you see the flag down, I am back to Germany...or thats what my flag tell :)

1) still there is a long way till December and lot of things may happen even though I always wish no one get injured neither for us nor for "them", let the better team win.

2) I would like to sms a message of support (even though he will not be there to read all that lol), but i am not sure how this go for those outside spain, but its nice to promote this ballbeav.

3) I know BA will draw his dager, but no i dont want a 29 years old untested Arshavine next summer when I have Iniesta, Ausslin, Jef, and pedro.

4) The question is not if Cesc is a good player or not, but if he is a priority for now, we all know it will be another crazy market next summer so are we up to challenge on more than one battle, including getting our expensive striker? The definite thing is that he will not come in January, and he will not come to warm the bench.

5)Kxevin the Busquets rumor is on Pep blog, the source is Marca, so you know...
