Ok, wasn’t perfect, but I’m happy. If someone had told me we would get 7 points off Getafe, Sevilla and Valencia, two of them away, I would’ve been happy. Now it’s up to Sevilla to do their job tomorrow.

Midfield was very disappointing though — including Xavi, to be honest.

Ahsan, definitely… It’s why he was subbed out. We also looked tired.

Now let’s get ready for Chelsea, somehow.

I too am happy, although to be completely honest, a loss would have actually been better!

Right now there is one point keeping Sevilla in 3rd place.

If Valencia had gotten the full 3 points, and Sevilla had gone down to fourth, that would have given them a greater incentive to beat Madrid.

But I suppose that lonely point can do the same.

for the first time, I am not disappointed with a draw. I will definetly take it, we have to accept that we cant win em all. And that henry equalizer was very important IMO. Sure, 1 point is not much better than 0, but it would do good for morale. Draw at probably the 3rd best team in spain in their ground is acceptable. Now chelsea

Not bad considering we have lost at the Mestalla for three straight years. Obviously not the best effort from our guys but credit to Valencia, they were all playing as if it were a final. Hopefully they do the same thing against Madrid instead of lying down and dying. I’ll talk tactics later, it just stopped raining over here so I’m going for a run.

What worries me is that Hiddink rested most of his starters this weekend while our guys look winded and will probably be exhausted. We’re going to truly need a miracle to get through this final stretch.

This is a good example of tactical play that Pep has to think about. On his right hand, he has to think his best line up to grab La Liga title. On his left hand, he has to be prepared for Semi Final Champs League. Can u imagine if we in his position? Its sooo crazy….

Valencia 2 – Barca 2… I think it was a fair game. Valencia really lock our midfielders tightly. Xavi can’t move the ball forward freely, Kieta always out of position and Busquets is crab. Pep really doesn’t want to sacrifice The Yaya to play as he would have a more destructive plan against Chelsea and Madrid.

Come Barca fans…. lets reckon for the treble. I think we can do it. Yeah!!!

Yeah, I’m definitely worried about tiredness… At least we are at home for the first match, meaning that there won’t be travel exertion for the Tuesday match. Now for the away…

valencia players are a bunch of diver ..and they play dirty football.
and puyol was realy off today, better to use marquez_pique partnership for chelsea and use puyol on left because pique_marquez hold the offside line better and have better heading abilities for defending against set pieces, and puyol is better than abidal on set pieces and because chelsea dont have good wingers and their main strench is their set pieces so puyol seem to be a better choice fop that game.
    about tonight game:
1)we play at a low tempo and were predictable for valencia
2)please dont play busi in these big games
3)what the hell alvez is doing?his passes and crosses have been off, loose alot of possesion
4)pique was holding puyol ass all the night ,if he was not there ,the final result may be 3_1
5)u guys havent notice that we realy waste our set pieces?those low ball will do us no favour

A goal that Real Madrid would be proud of…
The closing moments of an incredibly important match, one of much effort but little quality and just when we thought we were in trouble we get a set piece scramble of a goal to stick the knife in the gut of our rivals.
    Sound familiar?
94 goals we have scored this season. I’d argue our most important was the afforementioned deflected, miss-hit goal that Henry scored after the mistake Cesar made.
The importance is that it means we are still 3 games clear. Let me remind you of those games as far as EE are concerned Sevilla (a), Barca (h) & Valencia (a).

    A point well earned

I think the Classico and Chelsea game were much more important for you guys in the context of winning titles. With that in mind, you shouldn’t have let your key players get winded up like this. At worst, you would’ve lost another point, but it wouldn’t have mattered much if you won the Classico.

Anyway, good luck for the rest of the games. Rest assured Madrid has to go through hell at the Mestalla!

About the draw itself, it’s a result I feel both sides can be content with. Valencia fans (it seems) are quite happy with it, as its probably the best result they’ve had all season. We (as someone above mentioned) should be at least satisfied with 7 points from the last 3 matches.

We know it becomes VERY difficult when good teams are trying to protect a lead, which is the biggest danger we’ll have when facing Chelsea. If we’re ever trailing, I have no doubt they’d be willing and prepared to defend and break up our offense.

Xavi seemed to have a bad game, but he seemed to be marked a lot tighter than others.

Also (sorry for all the posts), it’s important to remember that we had many players one yellow away from missing el Clasico, so these players were less aggressive than they’d usually be.

i don’t like how valdes was rated, he saved about a million times. that usually happens when rating goalkeepers though, if they concede all their other work goes uncredited and their rating goes down

This is great but it’s missing something…. I know, perhaps some more language to make sure we understand that Henry should receive no credit?

Can anything be done about our horrible corner conversion rate?We win a hundred corners a game and rarely score from them. Can Pep be blamed for this? I’m not really sure he can do very much about it, I know our 3-headed-beast ( Eto’o , Messi, Henry) wasn’t built for aerial assaults (two of them are too short and Henry’s ability in the air is inconsistent and doesn’t match the rest of his strong suits).

Xavi was marked out of the game, and there was no fluency in our foward movement. Hiddink has watched this game, and tbh that scares the hell out of me. If he sets essien on Xavi and he gets marked out of the game and intends to stop our fluency and get among us. We’ll find it very hard against chelsea.
