Ha, I like how everyone agrees that Oleguer is a great Catalan nationalist representative and completely unworthy of running out on the field for us.

In the States I’m fairly certain that Oleguer would, indeed, be given a position within the club. Maybe as a trainer or as a figurehead “director of so-and-so”…fan relations isn’t a bad idea. He could stir up trouble with the boixos nois or something.

Yeah, let’s give Oleguer a corporate position — fan liaison, or something. Heck, put him on the board, if that helps. Just get him off the pitch, for crissakes!

@ kxev, could be wrong here, i think oleguer is an outspoken catalan nationalist and highly esteemed by some cules. maybe they overlook his shortcomings because of his politics.

Something tells me that we are almost done. Pique, Keita, Hleb, Caceres and Alves. Not a bad day’s work. Leaving are Thuram, Zambrotta, Ezquerro, Gudjohnsen. On the “probable” list are Dos Santos, Deco, Eto’o and Ronaldinho. I think that Oleguer is staying, lord knows why.

I think that the moves/sales are less for talent and more for team chemistry. But that’s just me speculating. Note that all of them (even Alves) are good to excellent role players. Alves is the biggest “star” on the list.

I wud say, if and when we get Dani alves, we have more than enough for the squad. While Silva or caceres wud be a welcome addition, but not crucial(Caceres instead of Pique wud have been awesome). Too much influx wud necessitate exit of some really good players. Even if Ronaldinho goes, exit of Eto`o seems like a bad idea to me. Similarly, signing of Van der Vaart, hleb, Lucho etc. wud only add more of the same. We have got front line with lot of depth, good midfielders and if we sign Alves, then a pretty good backline too.
Though it ain`t happening, Pls change the goalkeeper. Someone better than Valdes.

N Kxevin, nice bringing out two sides of the story. We are pissed off with Del Nido and Milan for exactly the opposite reasons concerning the two Brazilians.

And they’re saying that Zambrotta’s transfer was worth 8million as well, which is pretty good, I guess. Not what you’d hope in today’s transfer market, but about what one should expect because Zambrotta wanted to go and Barcelona wanted him gone.
