Your thoughts Please

Friends, as all have us seen today, Messi is unstoppable, his hatrick (second consecutive one in La Liga) has Messi scoring 9 of our last 12 goals overall. I want to know, what was your reaction to his second goal? It will be shown below, in excellent quality I might add.

I was stunned into silence, and motionless. It took a good 3 or 4 seconds for the goal to sink in, then I was screaming expletives in disbelief.

  • do you guys think Barca regrets letting go Eto'o and Milito?

  • Pep could have taken the entire team off in the second half and just left Messi to play alone. He probably would have scored more goals then...

Guardiola risks a lot with Marquez, Messi scores 3 and marquez allows 2.
    MESSI THE BEST EVER

  • No words can describe Messi right now, just none. Makes me so eager to watch him some more in this year's World Cup!!!

  • Brad

Messi exemplified professionalism and teamwork best when he gave Ibra the penalty shot that he had won - very classy, and indicative as to why he's the world's best.

(If that goal and his entire game didn't convince everybody already ;)

i score such goals all the time........{while playing on my playstation...hehe}...i mean that's how simple he makes everything look!!!!
    messi>>>>>>ronaldo,rooney etc
did i mention i'm a man united fan??

This week has been Messi's apotheosis. His first and second goals against Valencia were magnificent, followed by his performance against Stuttgart, and now this? I couldn't believe it, I was just thrilled with the run, I had to do a double take before I realized he had scored a completely unassisted goal.

  • phunky

    Its just everywhere!
Goal.com went to the extent of publicly stating that he's much better than ronaldo.
For such a humble person, words are not enough. The most important thing for messi is to remain humble, it'll take him to greater hieghts. He's the best player i've ever seen or heard of!

    check this hilarious video :-)

All I could think yesterday while leaving work time and again when Messi made plays was: My God I am blessed that I get to watch a player of this quality play the beautiful game
touché Jose's comment.. went to the Chivas-FCB game last year, but missed Messi as he was on Olympic duty..

  • Ramzi

Jeremy, lets just hope Messi brings himself a better ending...

  • Jeremy

makes those of us who got grow up watching Georgie Best just smile. Similar to Best's goal in San Jose in 81'. Well played Messi.

  • How ironic that the only person capable of stopping Messi at the World Cup this summer is Maradona.

  • Ramzi

And here is Santa (Hohohoo)supporting a funny weird way to react on the goals (check the Audio):

"Piqué has some discomfort in his left knee and exercised apart from the main group." Official website.

    Dont you dare!

It will be interesting to see how will Pep rotate his players in the following two games. Against Zaragoza, we saw a nice attempt that we didnt see last season.

  • Did you see the hack by the defender who got turned after Messi scored? He hacked the living lights out of Messi because Messi turned him twice and still scored. We should get rid of him and his 12 million €/year sallary, we have talents like Bojan who are wasted on the bench, and he need 2 minutes against Stuttgart to score, immagine if he played all the time Ibra played, Bojan woulf have at least 20 goals and numerous assist by now. pep shouldn’t be si stubborn, because if it was not for MESSI we coudl have LOST.

  • Sal

Pep is is zero on the transfer marked, he is just trying to motivate Ibra, but he know too like everyone that Ibra was CRAP. I have no "compassion' for a guy that earns 12 million € a year that is without bonusses, and the 70 Mio € he costed us. What he earns in a week, I have to work my butt of all my life, so no COMPASSION. This guy is paid to score goals as de CF 'no 9', PERIOD. If we want movement we can ask for a dancer or Usain Bolt to come and run some cirkels there. He wasted clear opportunities, was all the time offside etc.. . This guy just doesn't have it in him to play for Barca. We should get rid of him and his 12 million €/year sallary, we have talents like Bojan who are wasted on the bench, and he need 2 minutes against Stuttgart to score, immagine if he played all the time Ibra played, Bojan woulf have at least 20 goals and numerous assist by now. pep shouldn't be si stubborn, because if it was not for MESSI we coudl have LOST. Another thing i don't understand is his LOVE relationship with BUSI? Why was Yayha substituted for?

The game was actually bad, apart from Superman and Genius Messi :-) We miss Xavi and Abidal.

  • Helge

    Hehe, you're welcome, Cameroon.

You also have to note the celebration from the whole bench at 0:46 - 0:48! They are just as overwhelmed as we are :)
I especially like the reaction of the "little Buddha" who's holding his head in disbelief. That must be someone of the physios, and it's amazing to see everybody, not only the players, going nuts about this goal.

  • yogesh

The goal and entire second half by Messi was spectacular. I just feel happy that we can watch him every week.

Messi is celestial and for me, is already with di stefano, maradona and cruijff as the best football players of all time.

  • Ramzi

    ....

  • Thanks Helge, post updated with your link. :-D

  • Helge

Here's a link to the goal with English commentary:

I was speechless, breathless and so excited that I couldn't sleep until 3 hours after the match :D

  • Paul

    glad for messi

but somebody teach that lazy swedish redneck how to score...I am surprised he did managed to score that pk

  • It's the stuff legends are made of.

And yes that's a cliche, but I don't know how else to describe him anymore. If there was any doubt that he's the best player in the world, it's gone. If he keeps this form up for 4 more seasons, he's got an enormous shout at best player of the decade. And if Argentina win a world cup, best player ever perhaps.

  • honestly nothing surprises me anymore with messi...

    the man is amazing

  • MoMONEY

Theres no comparison. Rooney? Cristiano? He should be offended to even be mentioned in the same breath.

  • Jose

Quite honestly, it made me committed to see Messi play in person some time in the next few years.

  • pyro

I love Messi but what worries me is Ibrahimovic, he's too good and expensive to be missing stupid chances. He had the right movements and stuff but the killer finish that we need him to have was gone with his confidence. I am so glad Lionel gave him the ball to take the penalty

  • BarcaFan(BiH)

This is the goal that made me convinced he is the best player I have ever seen. I jumped out of my seat and went nuts when he scored that goal. Did you see the hack by the defender who got turned after Messi scored? He hacked the living lights out of Messi because Messi turned him twice and still scored. Gotta love it.
